Sponsor License:
The Foundation grants a license to qualified "Sponsors" to use the Empower the Family project in a given community. A license is required to protect the use of the Foundation's trademarks, copyrights, and other proprietary materials. Also, requiring certain standards for sponsoring Empower the Family allows the Foundation to maintain a consistent, and unique, project image benefiting all its Sponsors. The License grants a Sponsor the following:
- The exclusive right to be the Sponsor in a defined community.
- Use of its Empower The Family®, World Peace Parents®, Putting Family First®, and Family Hour® trademarks within a defined community
- Empower the Family proprietary and promotional materials, including its copyrighted project organization guidelines, training materials, contest rules, timelines, press releases, and other proprietary materials.
- The right to download username and password protected project materials from the Foundation's website.
License Fee:
The initial license fee is $1,000. The Foundation has learned from experience that a Sponsor must have some "skin in the game" for the project to be successful. After the initial year, the license may be renewed annually for the modest fee of $100.
Qualified Sponsors:
Sponsors may be service clubs like Rotary, businesses, community organizations, families, or individuals with lots of energy who want to make a positive contribution within their community. Sponsors must show they have access to staff, volunteer or paid, to organize and administer the project and enter into a License Agreement. The Sponsor must agree to undertake the project on a nonprofit, nondenominational, and nonpolitical basis.
